Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful.

Psalm 33:1

Better is one day in your courts that a thousand elsewhere.

Psalm 84:10

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalm 46:1

FOND MEMORIES

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Some of our best memories are simple moments where we felt loved, peaceful and secure. Simple exchanges of showing love through listening, being attentive, and showing respect for others. Moments that made you feel special and cost nothing.

I fondly remember helping my Grandma in her front yard, planting and taking care of her roses. .. and helping my Mom decorate her classroom for start of school, holidays, and for the changing seasons. Close private moments that cost nothing, but gave me much. That was over 50 years ago, but rich memories that had a huge impact on me and warm my heart.

In today's world, we measure love by the gifts we are given, money spent on us, and the expensive places we are taken. That is not the love that God defined through his Son. Love is caring, sharing.... Love is understanding, having patience and being respectful.  Many have lost their way because they placed a $$$$ value on love.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three;
but the greatest of these is love..

Path of Life

There will always be long winding roads opened to you.  Some take you to pre-set destinations like work, the mall and church; but there are "roads in life" you will travel not knowing where they lead. When you are lost there will be no road map, no road signs telling you what direction to go, or where to turn.... just a road that is open to you as you journey to the end.

Almighty God knew that we would face choices/unexpected events. In His infinite wisdom, He understood that He would not be with all of His children all day and all night to help us make minor decisions, He equipped us to do so, but He will avail Himself, when we called upon Him.

To make it easier for you, and for me....He left us a map. A guide, a self help book. The Bible is the best seller of all times. It has be gifted to others more than any other book, the average household has about five Bibles in the home. Some followers own no less than five themselves.  Not only is it the best seller, the Bible has been stolen more than any other book. Hotel rooms and churches, are the greatest sources of Bible theft.

The Bible has proven its value. Sinners want it, Christians have it, and the world needs to read it. Humans were created to function in life, make decisions based on tools that God gave to make us functional members of society. We are equipped to live a normal life and walk our path with little assistance because we are readers and followers of His Word.

The Bible is your road map for life. It is the guide for you when you encounter obstacles, detours, and evil along your path. God left us prepared to deal with the world. He gave us enduring and abiding commandments, principles and a legacy, that we as His Children must carry on.

Peace on earth and in heaven... will be our great reward.

Life's Purpose

You were made by God and for God, until you realize that, life will never make sense. We often ask the question, why am I here and what is my purpose. Very few people have the answer. We live, and we eventually stumble into a career, or relaionship and we discover that this is part of the purpose, but there must be something more profound.

Your purpose is not about you, it is about what you can do to promote the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior. To live by example , to do good in the world, and to learn from life's lesson as preparation for eternal life in His Kingdom.

It is not easy, living is not an easy journey, but there is guidance to help you get it right. Read your Bible, pray, meditate, and commune with spirit daily. Your path will be opened to all kinds of blessings.

Blessings

If you have not stopped to count your blessings, today would be a good day. When you look back at where you started, and you think of the broken hearts and tears shed, you realize the true power of Jesus Christ, the superior power that guided you through.  Sometimes you just feel like throwing up your hands and singing His praises... for without Him, there would be no you.

Even if life dealt you some losing cards, there was something powerful keeping you in the game... and somehow you survived.  There were situations you got yourself into, knowing that you were in the wrong place, behaving out of character, but some how... you made it out of the situation. That was God..

Daily life comes with daily events. Some are part of the natural order of any given day... but someday... you may receive a phone call, or read something in the newspaper, or your body may send you a message that something is not right... a day that is normal turns your life into un-ease. But like your past struggles and triumphs, there is always a miracle with your name on it.

We have a God-given responsibility in a troubled world. If we seek to be blessed in our lives, we must bless others. We are humans all occupying one space. It is called "Earth." We were created as one race... the "Human Race."  As complicated as life can be,  the best of human character would reveal itself in each of us, if we fully understood the earthly journey of Jesus Christ, and its purpose.

Keeping the Faith

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seem. We must always be champions of faith. Faith is what has brought us this far, faith is what will take us on.

It is so easy to reach a point when life gets tough.  You tire under the weight of the challenges. Tired of the way things are, tired of  trying to make a difference and tired of being tired.  It appears that all you do to make a difference has little impact on the way things are.

Every day you do what is needed to strengthen your faith. You read the Bible, pray, attend church, you do what you were taught was necessary to support your relationship with God Almighty.  You are so good at doing what is needed to keep the devil away that you find peace in the presence of knowing that God is near.

That is what each of us wants. We want to see our faith in God and His goodness reflected in the hearts of all people. We want fair, and just to apply to all. We want character to matter and greed and hate to die. We want the hearts of mankind to reflect the God that is within.

Fear that man who fears not God.

It is a mistake to look too far ahead. Only one link in the chain of destiny can be handled at a time.

Winston Churchill
